Tamiment PA is a village in the eastern Poconos. At one time the Tamiment Resort was the official center of the town. The resort, which in the past was owned and run by Wayne Newton, has been demolished. The name Tamiment now denotes the surrounding area consisting of The Glen at Tamiment populated with vacation, retirement and commuter homes, Lehman's Pointe where new homes on wooded lots with central water and sewer are being built, Eagle Village, a timeshare resort, Tamiment lake (AKA Second Pond ) and an eighteen hole golf course, which still carries the Tamiment name.
